I received my first Gesnariad well over a decade ago. It was rooted cuttings of this Columnea sp. My elderly neighbor friend had owned the plant for years and was eager to get me hooked on them. She told me about a sale up the street from our homes and I was hooked. Well... yesterday I became the volunteer President of the Mt. Hood Gesnariad Society. That’s the group that holds the sales. It’s a local chapter and I cannot say enough about the folks who’ve run it for so many years and who’ve mentored me by selling me plants.
